The Real Story of Our 15th August Kitty Party
Every year, 15th August brings a special kind of energy… 🇮🇳
This time, I thought – why not celebrate it thoda hatke?
Instead of just watching the parade on TV, we brought the spirit of freedom right into our kitty group – with a full-on Independence Day Theme Kitty Party! 🎈🎤
Tiranga vibes, deshbhakti games, and tricolor food – ekdum patriotic mood bana diya.

Invitation For Independence Day Theme Kitty party
Instead of a boring message, I sent this in our kitty group:
“Tiranga ho, dosti ho, aur deshbhakti ka jazba ho – toh milte hain ek special Independence Day themed kitty party mein!
Dress code: Tricolor.
Masti: Unlimited.
🎈 Decoration – Simple, Desi & Full of Spirit
We didn’t spend much — just used what we had at home!
Tricolor Balloons – Orange, white, green balloons on the entrance and windows
Indian Flags – Mini flags on the table, and one large one for the background
Dupattas & Bedsheets – Used orange and green dupattas with a white bedsheet as table cover
Flower Rangoli – Made a small rangoli near the entrance using marigold petals and rice flour
The whole place looked vibrant and filled with deshbhakti vibes.
👗 Dress Code – Wear the Tiranga with Style
We told all the ladies to come in any two or three colors of the Indian flag. Some wore white kurtis with green dupattas, others came in orange sarees with matching bangles. One of us even painted her nails tricolor! 💅
We also gave small tricolor badges at the entrance to everyone
🎤 Activities & Games – Deshbhakti + Dhamal
This was the highlight of our party. Here’s what we played:
🎶 1. Patriotic Antakshari
Teams had to sing only patriotic songs — like “Mera Rang De Basanti”, “Ae Watan”, “Vande Mataram”.
Sab milke gaa rahe the – some off-key, but all from the heart! ❤️
🇮🇳 2. Flag Relay Race
We gave each team a mini flag. The challenge? Balance it on your hand and race across the room without dropping it.
It was full of laughs, and even our calmest members got competitive!
🧠 3. Freedom Fighters Quiz
We asked simple questions like:
“Who designed the Indian flag?”
“Who gave the slogan ‘Do or Die’?”
Winners got small prizes like tricolor keychains and notebooks.
🎨 4. Tricolor Rangoli Competition
Everyone got flower petals and color powder. The goal? Make the best tricolor design in 10 minutes.
Creativity full-on tha!
